Me and We

Re-visiting the past... I smile : )
Reading journals and things I wrote
I realized when I felt down
it was all about 'ME'
I realized when I felt up
 it was all about 'WE'

Frogs and Snakes

When it rains as it is in South Florida right Now...

You can hear nature with the volume turned up!

One of the amplified sounds are frogs...

Reminding me ...

FROG

F forever
R rely
O on
G God!

Realizing when there are so many frogs...
There are visibly more snakes too...
feeding on them...Natures Balance
reminding me in Life there is a balance.
Metaphorically speaking ...
if frogs remind me of Faith
and snakes remind me of temptation.
Faith does not mean there is no temptation!
There are not more snakes in the rain...

There appears to be more (temptation) snakes...
When faith ( frogs) seems to also be abundantly in sight!

Ever notice that where facts are few experts are many?

Ever notice that where facts are few experts are many?

Have you ever amazed yourself and known just as much
or more than an "expert"?

My father use to tell me...
Be willing to learn like a beginner and you will always continue to improve...

We all know that people brand them self as "experts"...
I asked "So what qualifies someone as an 'expert'?"

Some of the answers received:
Schooling and a degree!
Real life experiences!
Proven and successful results!

Webster says
Expert: having, involving, or displaying special skill or knowledge derived from training or experience

Then I ask ...
Has a novice or beginner ever taught you something?
Has a child ever taught you something?
Have you ever taught yourself something?

A child with no schooling or degree...
A novice with out real life experiences...
Your intuition or just taking a chance...
All with no previous success results...

How does someone become an expert at something that is NOT taught in formal education?

Lately it seems as if everyone is an expert at something...

Is it possible that being an expert limits just how much we can really improve and grow?

Simple Wisdom

Simple Wisdom...
Life is too short to wake up with regrets...
So love the people who treat you right...
Love the ones who don't just because you can...
Believe everything happens for a reason...
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands...
If it changes your life, let it...
Kiss slowly...
Forgive quickly...
God never said life would be easy...
He just promised it would be worth it...

The Wooden Bowl Story

The Wooden Bowl

If you have heard this before you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl~
If you have not heard this before you will remember tomorrow~ a week from now~
a month from now~A year from now~

A frail old man went to live with his son~ daughter-in-law~and four-year-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled~ his eyesight was blurred~ and his step faltered

The family ate together at the table~ But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
Failing sight made eating difficult~
Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor~
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth~

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess~
We must do something about father~ said the son~
I've had enough of his spilled milk~ noisy eating~ and food on the floor~

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner~
There~ Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner~
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two~ his food was served in a wooden bowl~

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction~
sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone~
Still~ the only words the couple had for him were sharp
admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food~

The four-year-old watched it all in silence~

One evening before supper~ the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor~
He asked the child sweetly~ What are you making? Just as sweetly~the boy responded~
Oh~ I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up~
The four-year-old smiled and went back to work~

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless~
Then tears started to stream down their cheeks~
Though no word was spoken~ both knew what must be done~

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table~
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family~ And for some reason,
Neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork
was dropped~ milk spilled~ or the tablecloth soiled~

On a positive note~I've learned that~ no matter what happens~ how bad it seems today~ life does go on~ and it will be better tomorrow~

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles six things~
A rainy day~ children~ animals~the elderly~ lost luggage~ and tangled Christmas tree lights~

I've learned that making a ~living~ is not the same thing as making a ~life~

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance~

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands~
You nee d to be able to throw something back sometimes~

I've learned that if you pursue happiness~ it will elude you
But~if you focus on your family~ your friends~ the needs of others~
Your work and doing the very best you can~ happiness will find you

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart~ I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains~ I don't have to be one~

I've learned that every day~ you should reach out and touch someone~

People love that human touch ~holding hands~ a warm hug~ or just a friendly pat on the back~

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn~

If You Are Always Perfect You Are Not Learning

If you are always perfect you are not learning~

To create success ~ we must have goals ~

We strive to get "it" perfect all the time~

When we do get "it" perfect ~

As we pat ourselves on the back ~

Take a bow ~ except praise ~ and feel proud~

We should consider that we need to push forward ~

Otherwise It would be like quitting ~

Our skill levels increase as we push forward~

If you are going to improve you have to fall short of perfect~

How awesome never an end~ never boring~ always striving for Improvement~

CANI

C=constant
A=and
N=never~ending
I=improvement

You Never Know What You Do ~ Say or How You Act Effects the Life or Lives of Other People~

You Never Know What You Do ~ Say or How You Act can effect the Life or Lives of Other People~

How awesome of a feeling when we witness an abundance of GoOD as the result of
something that came from someone's heart...

Well thought out plans also produce a great abundance~
Have you noticed that sometimes they are started on an idea of someone's non planned action?

Recently we were reminded of this ~

We were at a Brave Aid ~ Operation Warrior Support meeting ~ Joe Wright who is a Veteran was speaking of how his past experiences and his service to our country still effect his everyday life. Moved by Joe's genuine and sincere testimonial~ Jim started recording Joe while he was speaking~ Joe was just that good... Jim did not why~ all he did know is that this was something he wanted to view again. (We have included the video link at the end of this note)

After uploading and viewing the video Jim decided has to be a way to share this message~

Jim finds a way he can help Joe deliver his message in a personal way to friends and family~

We have a streaming video software package that enables us to up load and send a video to friends ~ family ~ business associates in an email.
Not being able to edit the unrehearsed ~ matter of fact Joe did not even know he was being recorded ~ version Jim knew that it was the way to was meant to be...

Jim also sent it to Brandon Williams founder of Brave Aid to share what an we felt was a message that Joe indeed was an awesome speaker ~ To date this video has been forwarded and view over 350 times.

Stories of real life positive effects this video has had on lives of people who have viewed it have been shared with us. Joe him self was not aware of how much his message would create abundance for others or in his own well being and personal life .

We know that a message needs to be delivered and we feel blessed to be a part of this mission.

Both Jim and I believe in some way Jim's recording ~Joe words ~and the circulates of this video~ is an example of how a prompt to take action can inspire abundance...

We are passionate about helping others help themselves ~
Giving a Hand Up as opposed to giving a Hand Out~
Give a Man a Fish Feed him for a Meal ~ Teach a Man to Fish Feed him for a Life~

Words Worth Sharing

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born~
A Death Certificate shows that we died~
Pictures show that we lived~

Just because two people argue~
that doesn't mean they don't love each other~

And just because they don't argue~ that doesn't mean they do love each other~

Sometimes when we are angry we have the right to be angry~
but that never give us the right to be cruel~

We don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change~

No matter how good a friend is ~
they're going to hurt us every once in a while and we must forgive them for that~

True friendship continues to grow ~ even over the longest distance ~ Same goes for true love~

We can do something in an instant that will give us heartache for life~

It's taking us a long time to become the person we want to be~

We should always leave loved ones with loving words ~ It may be the last time we see them~

We can keep going long after we think we can't~

We are responsible for what we do ~ no matter how we feel~

We either control our attitude or it controls us~

Heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done ~
regardless of the consequences~

Money is a lousy way of keeping score~

With our best friends we can do anything ~ or nothing ~ and have the best time~

Sometimes the people we expect to kick us ~
When we're down
Are the ones to help us get back up~

Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences we've had ~
and what we've learned from them ~
and less to do with how many birthdays we've celebrated~

It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others~
Sometimes ~ we have to learn to forgive ourselves~

No matter how bad our heart is broken the world doesn't stop for our grief~

Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are ~
but we are responsible for who we become~

We shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret ~ It could change our life forever~

Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different~

Our life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know us~

Even when we think we have no more to give ~
if a friend cries out to us ~
we will find the strength to help~

Credentials on the wall do not make anyone a decent human being~

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything ~
We just make the most of everything~

How would you answer these questions?

When someone I care about passes away or they lose someone ,it reminds me of what we have is only NOW. Problems seem to fade and not be as important. The past is gone, the future is uncertain, we only have NOW, the present (a gift).

This week our family has heard of several toddlers who have passed away in accidents in their own homes. Reminding me to put "LIFE" into perspective. Life is precious and can be gone in a matter of seconds. All we have is right NOW.

NOW
N notice
O opportunities
W waiting

I began to realize when I am reminded of how precious life is, I find new appreciation and begin to practice awareness of everything... Set new goals to accomplish, then something happens and I get side tracked, disappointed .

I began to look at how I spend my NOW moments. If I were to record an average day of my life what would it say about ~

~What I am doing with my Gift of Life? (Present)
~Am I using all my talents?
~Am I being productive with my time, co creating ?

~What would your recorded average day look like?

How would you answer those questions?

We All Have Dreams

We All Have Dreams

We all have Dreams right? Being human allows us to answer YES!!! Have you ever heard about someone living their dream? Again the answer is probably YES!!! Do you realize the way we make an income and how we feel about it has a huge impact on our lives?

If you’re in an Occupational Career, Job, or anything else that produces an additional Stream of Income, and it does not make you happy ...Changing or choosing a new source can be easier than you think...

Take it slow and give it time. Do some soul searching...Discover what you really have interest in, what are you passionate about? Ask a lot of questions...
Explore your options... With the Internet research is easier than ever...

Joining an opportunity or starting a business can be exciting... Jumping into something too quickly without research, you could discover that things are not what you expected... You still have bills to pay...Do not quit what you are doing and wonder how you will pay the bills...

Do not settle for something that pays "Well" when asked most people would say happiness and satisfaction are more important than money... Do NOT sell your dream at any price...

At the end of the day you should feel good about what you accomplished...

The Person Standing on the Mountain~Top

The Person Standing on the Mountain~Top

The person standing on the mountain top did not get there by falling. You have to climb to where you want to go--and you cannot get there by climbing over others. It is about climbing with others, side by side, and even pulling some others up with you. Are you willing to do that? If you are, you'll get to that high place, and others will be happy that you're there-- which is what will keep you there.

Who is Dave, and why was he there?

We met with a friend of ours, it was Tuesday before her leadership role at our Meetup. She shared a recent true life experience with us. She was in NY City and found her self with more luggage than one person could possibly carry. She began to feel unsafe and envisioned being robbed. A man approached her, he had all the appearance of a homeless man, carry a sign, asking for money, in need of personal grooming is being kind. He offered to help her, asking her if she was ok. At first judging him by his appearance she immediately said NO. Feeling she was in danger of being mugged, among her luggage were three laptops, holding ALL her valuable personal information. He insisted and would not leave. Giving into the fact that she could not get to her destination by herself, she began to think with her "business" hat on. She offered to make him a "business deal" if he helped her get where she had to be, she would give him $20.00. He would have to tuck in his shirt, pull up his pants, bush the hair behind off his face... and put away his sign out of sight. His name was Dave, and he agreed, carrying most of her luggage walking through the terminal of Port Authority, she knew people were looking at them. She felt uncomfortable as she felt them judging. She was a professional business woman, and he was, well lets say- he was not!!! Feeling uneasy she still was amazed this man could carry all her luggage and as if was nothing and never notice the stares. The entire time he would repeat to her, "its ok, you will be alright it will all work out, don't worry" Getting to the food court at the airport, she offered to buy him lunch, he accepted. She made small talk... As agreed she took $20.00 out and extended it to pay him as the agreed "business deal". He refused and she insisted, she said we made a "business deal". He replied with, You have paid me with more than $20.00, you talked with me like a real person something no one has done in a long time. He then offered to stay and make sure she was ok until it was time to board. She said no thank you. He finally took the $20.00 they agreed upon as the "business deal" As she shared with us her experience we all realize that sometimes the person we least expect to be sent to help is the one.
After the meeting was over and Jim and I were driving home , I began to wonder if she knew what had happened- could it be the very thing Dave actually needed. So you never really know who is in need. HE does indeed work in HIS own way!!!

As children we all have dreams. When Jim and I have seen someone who is living or begging on the street - we wonder- what happened in that person life that they are where they are? When they were asked as a child "What do you want to be when you grow up?" We are almost sure they did not answer " I want to be homeless begging on the streets" or " I want to be an alcoholic or addicted to drugs" We also believe we all make choices, and have to be accountable for our actions. Just a thought.

Does it snow in Hawaii?

We have the Blessing of forming a friendship with a very special family Lester, Robin and their wonderful daughter Abigail, who happen to live in Hawaii... While speaking on the phone, Lester mentions that they are taking 2 1/2 yr old Abigail to see the snow..."it snows in Hawaii???"... We beleive him completely... the following information is for those who do not know Lester...
The answer is "yes". It snows here every year, but only at the very summits of our 3 tallest volcanoes (Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea and Haleakala). The snow level almost never gets below 9000 feet in Hawaii during the winter, but since these mountains are taller than 13,000 feet, 13,000 feet, and 10,000 feet, respectively, they get dusted with snow a few times a year. It rarely stays on the ground for more than a few days though. Although the rest of the island chain enjoys warm tropical weather the entire year-round, there have been "freak" cold storms a few times this century that have brought local snow storms down to as low as 3000 to 4000 feet. This snow has melted very quickly, however
