Me and We

Re-visiting the past... I smile : )
Reading journals and things I wrote
I realized when I felt down
it was all about 'ME'
I realized when I felt up
 it was all about 'WE'

Frogs and Snakes

When it rains as it is in South Florida right Now...

You can hear nature with the volume turned up!

One of the amplified sounds are frogs...

Reminding me ...

FROG

F forever
R rely
O on
G God!

Realizing when there are so many frogs...
There are visibly more snakes too...
feeding on them...Natures Balance
reminding me in Life there is a balance.
Metaphorically speaking ...
if frogs remind me of Faith
and snakes remind me of temptation.
Faith does not mean there is no temptation!
There are not more snakes in the rain...

There appears to be more (temptation) snakes...
When faith ( frogs) seems to also be abundantly in sight!

The Past Year

This past year was a re-building year for us...

We did a lot of doing without and substituting this for that...

Expenses being the major influence. We "re"discovered many ways to save and also

discovered new ways to do without this for we could afford that...

We realized just how much we took for granted,

how many things we can really can do with out...

How much STUFF we really do not have to have...

We have been the receivers of blessings and lessons...

In this past year we have been re-introduced and reminded that wealth comes in many forms

With this Foundation and our Faith, it is simple, not always easy, to stay focused on our desired

out-comes. We wake up with excitement, we live each day with purpose, enjoy the NOW,

having enthusiasm for the future...

We have committed in writing specific steps to accomplish our goals ...

We review and adjust them on a periodic basis to ensure we are on course.

Similar to the flight of an airplane, arriving at its destination

after adjusting its course through out the journey.

Some of the things we "re" discovered and discovered...

Books, Books on CD's, Music CD's and DVD's are free to borrow from the local Library...

The have all the current and past issues of magazines. Readers are leaders !!

You can also download Books on to CD's right on your computer...

Home made syrup, soups, cookies, candy, cakes, bread, beef jerky

and ice cream really do taste good and even better when shared...

Playing cards is Fun... Talking is a great way to pass time...

Car rides are a good time for listening to Books on CD's and uplifting Music...

Beaches are FREE and come with Sunshine, Saltwater Sand and lots of Smiles...

Parks and picnics also FREE...

Beauty aids can be found in the kitchen...

Exercise is also FREE... swimming and walking to mention a few...

Unlimited minutes on cell phones is a GREAT way to connect ...

Information on any subject is available on the NET...

TV offers GREAT programs...History Channel, The Discovery Chanel

are a few ways to stimulate the mind...

History does repeat it self and knowing the past can direct your future.

When you give a smile you get one back...

Hugs are FREE ... Kindness is valuable...

Being Grateful before falling sleep gives you a more peaceful rest.

Waking up smiling at the face in the mirror with thankfulness and looking forward to the day.

We believe in giving and know it is amazing when you think you have nothing left to GIVE

that is when you must give it all... and when you do ...you get the most back...

Thank You to all our friends and connections for your friendship...

We welcome the opportunity to connect with you...

Together all of us are greater than any one of us alone ♥

I Remember The Way

It is my belief we are all students and teachers...

We learn from others and others learn from us...

We have heroes and s'heroes~ and we are heroes and s'heroes to others...

I sometimes wonder what I am here to learn and what I am here to teach?

What is the way I am suppose to be following or leading?

Then I simply smile... because it is not up to me who, how, or what ...

I remember my purpose is to love... it is the way

A lesson about selling from buyers

I know a salesman ...

Although

He works diligently , is informed and educated in his field

He can be very helpful and resourceful...

He is not the friendliest ...

Does not always smile...

Often in a bad mood...

Has been know to just walk away from a customer...

Does not profess or pretend to love his JOB...

Yet he is one of the top earners in a very competitive field~ has been for years...

That got me thinking...What is happening here...

What is it they like about him and why do they always came back...

So I asked questions and got answers...

A lesson about selling from buyers

Although he is sometimes blunt ~ He is honest... not phony

He does not push, pull, guilt, belittle or BS... he is up front... and honest...

He is sure of what he knows...

He is not a yes man...

I then said "I get it !!!"

He is authentic ... He is the real deal... He is himself...

People will buy~feel good and re buy from someone they believe is authentic and not just selling them.

My Grandson 1st Move

My 4 year old Grandson often asks "Did you buy this for me and you to share?"

Like most children he loves to share everyone's "stuff" : )

One day his mother and I explained that a particular "thing" he was sure was a shared gift

was bought before he was born.

He asked what "Before he was born" meant

My daughter told him that when he was in her tummy growing, his Uncles bought it for me...

Explaining that is what before he was born meant...

Wanting to be sure ...he repeated " I lived in your tummy before I was born?'

My daughter answered Yes...

You can see his mind working as he says

" Before I was born I lived in your tummy?"

His mother said yes...all children live in their mommy's tummy before they are born..

He then says " Then I Moved right?"

We all smiled and said Yes ... Simple Wisdom...

Life is simple... not the same as easy : )

Remember Rainbows

Someday's just are not as bright as others~when a dark cloud decides to appear~
positive self talk~and affirmations are valuable YET I have learned and KNOW~
that a breakthrough is on the way.
I love sunny days~ yet without rain nature could not blossom~
sometimes I sit & just watch the rain fall~
sometimes I let the rain kiss my face and mix with my tears~
sometimes I walk in the rain~
SOMEDAY'S I dance in the rain~
I notice someday's the sun is still sinning while it's raining ♥
Let us remember Rainbows ♥

Man and His Best Friend

A man and his dog were walking along a road.
The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years.
He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road...
It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill,
it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.
He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.
When he was close enough, he called out, Excuse me, where are we?

Why this is Heaven, sir...the man answered.
Wow!!! Would you happen to have some water? the man asked...

Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up.
The man gestured, and the gate began to open.

Can my friend... gesturing toward his dog, come in, too? the traveler asked...

I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets...

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road
and continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed... There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.

Excuse me! he called to the man.. Do you have any water?

Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in...

How about my friend here? the traveler gestured to the dog...

There should be a bowl by the pump...

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it...

The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself... then he gave some to the dog...

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree...

What do you call this place? the traveler asked...

This is Heaven... he answered...

Well, that's confusing... the traveler said... 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too...

Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope... That's hell...

Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?

No... we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind...

How would you answer these questions?

When someone I care about passes away or they lose someone ,it reminds me of what we have is only NOW. Problems seem to fade and not be as important. The past is gone, the future is uncertain, we only have NOW, the present (a gift).

This week our family has heard of several toddlers who have passed away in accidents in their own homes. Reminding me to put "LIFE" into perspective. Life is precious and can be gone in a matter of seconds. All we have is right NOW.

NOW
N notice
O opportunities
W waiting

I began to realize when I am reminded of how precious life is, I find new appreciation and begin to practice awareness of everything... Set new goals to accomplish, then something happens and I get side tracked, disappointed .

I began to look at how I spend my NOW moments. If I were to record an average day of my life what would it say about ~

~What I am doing with my Gift of Life? (Present)
~Am I using all my talents?
~Am I being productive with my time, co creating ?

~What would your recorded average day look like?

How would you answer those questions?

Have you heard about Brave Aid.Org and Operation Warrior Support.US

My son Kristofer, called me and starts off the conversation with
"Do you feel blessed or lucky to have only problems that more money could solve?"

At first I said YES... without thinking... Then when I started thinking... I realized that question/statement was of value... Every single problem that I currently have could actually be eliminated solved or improved by "more money" and most of the people I know would have to agree...

We (Jim & denise) had attened a informational meeting. This organization helps Veterans and their families. In the meetings were people of all ages, and all walks of life... they all had one thing in common... A heart beat and a desire to "make a difference" A common quote that was shared many times in the meeting was..."The reason we are "F*r*e*e" is because of the Brave!!!"

The Life Bio's of men, women and children who's lives have been changed...Touched each and every person in that room...some on a personal level...

We realized that when one person serves our country... one persons leaves... yet everyone one live is touched... mom, dad, spouse, children, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, and strangers who can have the freedom...

Jim and I made a commitment to give at least 10% of every dollar we earn to different charities. No matter how tight things get we donate... and it is unbelievable how it comes back to us in ten folds...

When we give it always feels so good it almost seems as if we get for giving...
When Jim heard about Brave Aid.Org and Operation Warrior Support.US , he felt guided and lead to this cause... Being an educated man in the business world he did hours of due diligence ... giving it a thumbs up... he began to share this with friends ... they are equally as excited and to give... By donating 20.00 twenty dollars a month you can make a difference in LIVES.... and you have the FREEDOM to decide if you would like to earn as you give...

This is such a unique organization that we (Jim and denise) have decided that we are going to sponsor veterans.. 1 at a time... pay for them to get enrolled ... and when they begin to earn... sponsor another...

Brandon Williams ,Ron Begin and Glenn "W" Tunner, have come together to share this with ALL who will listen... This is a worthy cause and everyone benefits... a win win win ... if you have any questions or concerns please call Jim @ 386.235.6864 or email Jim@jimdenise.com

Mom's Day History

From Then To Now Mother's Day

The modern Mother's Day, of bringing flowers and gifts to moms can be traced back to seventeenth century England
Mothering Sunday was the fourth Sunday in Lent...a special day when all the strict rules about fasting and penance were put aside. Older children who were away from home learning a trade or working as servants were allowed to return home for Mothering Sunday. The family gathered for a mid-Lenten feast with Mother as the special guest. Along with a rare visit from her children, mothers were given treats of cakes and wildflower bouquets. While 'Mothering Sunday'

In America, early English settlers often disapproved of the Mothering Sunday tradition never really took. Early attempts to have a day to honor mother's were mixed with woman's suffrage and peace movements and were not very popular.

Julia Ward Howe, who wrote the words to the Battle Hymn of the Republic, suggested the idea of an International Mother's day to celebrate peace and motherhood in 1872. There were many other women who were active with local groups holding annual Mother's Day remembrances, but most were more religious gatherings and not the holiday that we know today.

One of the women, who was working on establishing Mother's Day as a national celebration was the mother of Anna Jarvis. Mrs. Jarvis held an annual gathering, Mother's Friendship Day, to heal the pain of the Civil War. After she died in 1905, Anna campaigned for the establishment of an official Mother's Day to commemorate her mother.

"Miss Anna Jarvis was as good as her word. She devoted her entire life to the struggle to have Mother's Day declared a national holiday. In the spring of 1908, Anna wrote to the Superintendent of Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia, where her mother had taught Sunday School classes for over 20 years. She requested that a Mother's Day service be held in honor of her mother. Thus, the first official Mother's Day celebration was held at Andrew's Methodist Church on May 10, 1908, with 407 persons in attendance. Anna Jarvis sent 500 white carnations to the church in Grafton. One was to be worn by each son and daughter and two by each mother in attendance. Another service was held in Philadelphia later that afternoon where Anna resided with her brother. Anna had requested that the first official service be held in Grafton, where the Jarvis family had lived so much of their lives and where her mother had served for so long as a teacher and public servant.

Anna Jarvis' campaign is the reason we have a formal holiday. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared that Mother's Day should be celebrated as a national holiday on the second Sunday in May.

It didn't take very long for Mother's Day to change from a semi-religious occasion of prayers for peace and appreciation of the work and love of mothers around the world to a gifts, flowers, candy and dining out . Anna Jarvis was actually arrested at a Mother's Day festival while trying to stop women from selling flowers. Jarvis said "I wanted it to be a day of sentiment not profit."

Mother's Day may not have turned out to be the holiday that Julia Ward Howe, Anna Jarvis and countless other women around the world imagined, but it is a celebration of mothers...dedicated to honoring the women who give so much to their families without asking for anything in return. Perhaps every day should be Mother's Day, but most families are too busy with everyday business to say thank you for every meal or every good night kiss.

Once every year, the world stops being busy and says thank you. Flowers, cards and gifts are just the outward signs. What mothers love most is the fact that their families really do notice all that they do and for one day every mom is queen for a day...

Happy Mother's Day from Jim and Denise

Ask for it~be Aware~take Action~be Grateful

Ask for it~ be Aware ~ take Action~ be Grateful

We made a decision to donate 10% of the money that passes through us.
We usually donate to a charity, the charity usually presents itself to us, example a friend of ours lost a love one to a drunk driver ~ MADD, another friend lost a loved one to cancer~ American Cancer Society, another has a family member with diabetes American Diabetes Foundation. Sometimes RAK (Random Act of Kindness) paying for someone you do not know at the toll booth, McDonalds drive thru or someones dinner without being identified.
Gives us a GoOD feeling!!!
A few weeks ago we had an idea... What if we found someone who by outward appearances could afford to pay for extra's and we paid for them... Would they be inspired to "Pay It Forward?" Sharing this idea with others and of course the universe...
Asking for it~being Aware of it~taking Action~ feeling Grateful!!!
We were invited to the First Meet-Up ... BBB Breakfast~Business-Bunch... This was a different format~ Brain Storming with heart !!!
When it was over everyone had left except the organizer and us (Jim & denise) as we approached the cashier each of us with bills in hand we realized this was not exactly what we had talked about ... Yet we were moved to make this part of our 10% ... We know this woman Shelley Costello pays it forward every single day!!!
Imagine if we act in could reverse
be Grateful~take Action~ be Aware~Ask for it
We would all be racing to Pay It Forward First...
