Recently when a friend asked me for my advice
on a personal issue, like so many of us ...
I proudly and knowing shared it!
Their reaction let me know it was not what they were hoping for!
Expressing to my friend it was my opinion ...
and that I was answering ...what I thought I would do!
My friend told that they did not want to know what I would do
they were asking what 'they' should do.
That got me to thinking...
Giving advice, taking advice... Just plain ole listening to advice
Is the advice we give really what 'we' really want/need to hear our-self?
Ever heard this?...
When you ask the question 'What should I do?'
You should answer your-self as if
you were answering that question to a
loved one.
Often I will ask a question and...
I already know how I feel about it
I already know what I want to do about it
I already know what I should do about it
So why am I asking others what I should do?
Is it that I am waiting for validation?
Is that I am wanting someone else to agree or disagree?
Is that I asking for permission?
Is it that I am just stalling?
Then it came through...
I am responding to past training...
Fear... Make sure... Be safe... Don't make a mistake
What came to mind is...
Ignorance on fire
get more done than
Knowledge on ice!
In business asking is seeking knowledge in which
ASK means
A always
S seek
K knowledge!
In our personal life...
it is what we love
what brings us joy
what makes each one of us unique!
What is it that you know you should do and don't?
