you don't really appreciate your parents .
Sometime after I became a parent
father told me...
"Daughter, you owe me
and I expect to be repaid...
Yes, Every thing I did for you was out of love...
and I expect more in return than I gave..."
This statement was unlike him...
Explaining all he did as my parent...
Adding even the mistakes : )
He then added...
"For everything I did for you my child ...
was not to teach you to love me
It was to teach you to love your child"
We talked about this often.
